How It Works

  1. 1

    Open the dashboard

Click 'Open Stripe Portal' and a stateful environment is provisioned in under 2 seconds.

  2. 2

Point your app at the sandbox URL

Replace your Stripe base URL with the sandbox endpoint. No other code changes needed.

  3. 3

    Make real API calls

Create charges, customers, subscriptions — all state persists across requests exactly like the real Stripe API.

  4. 4

    Switch scenarios

Flip to 'Payment Declined' or 'Rate Limiting' from the UI to test error-handling paths in your app.

FAQ

Do I need a Stripe account?

No. FetchSandbox runs a fully local mock of the Stripe API. No Stripe account, no test mode keys, no API rate limits.

Is this different from Stripe's own test mode?

Yes. Stripe's test mode still calls Stripe's servers and requires an account. FetchSandbox runs entirely in your environment — no network calls to Stripe.

Can I add my own test data?

Yes — you can POST to any resource endpoint to add records, and the state persists across calls for the lifetime of the sandbox.

Which Stripe API version is supported?

FetchSandbox uses Stripe's OpenAPI 3.x spec. The bundled spec covers the current stable Stripe API surface including PaymentIntents, Subscriptions, and Webhooks.
